Update & Goals for 2010

Our main objective for 2010 is to get into stores and start seriously printing madddd shirts. The new designs are looking out of control we are just waiting for some mula to come in to get crankin’. Also, there will be extra efforts made to spread the message and color the world around us. Just simply seeing a highlife sign or logo or t-shirt around reminds us of how beautiful everything is and that we should truly appreciate our lives. Right? And that our community is one with the Earth and our most-amazing Universe. Seriously. The sunset is my absolute favorite part of the day- an every day melting painting across the sky. How ridiculous have they been lately? Out of control. Anyways, we are working on some HUGE art projects with the sunset so get ready for those. There is talk of a some sweet-ass events in the upcoming year so keep your ears open and eyes peeled. As for now just keep enjoying your lives and SPREADING POSITIVE ENERGY. 2009 was a rough year for a lot of people and families so it’s important to keep a smile on your face and offer your hands to anyone you might see in need. ily<3 DD

THE NEW HIGHLIFE LOGO

The New Highlife Logo

The triangle in the center represents exactly that, a burning soul centered with the Universe. The juxtaposition of Unity and Uniqueness/Individuality. An immediate recognition of meaning can only come from within the soul of its viewer. That’s one of the most beautiful things about it. The symbol does not tell you what it means, it grasps the EYE AND MIND and asks only what it means to its viewer. With prior knowledge of the Highlife Movement or not, this symbol speaks fiercely but at the same time elegantly. It carries energy, growth, and expression. Also, the triangle in the center is a prism reflecting streaks and rays of light in all directions, represented by the growing bursts of tentacle like arms and flames. The arms also represent FIRE, WATER, AND SPIRIT. I feel like spiritually we have a connection to triangles and I wanted to stray away from the everyday circular type emblem that so many companies offer as their logos. The triangle rests softly in the center of a vibrant flower as life grows ever beautifully around it. Or from another point of view, the triangle is diving into this colorful display of love and light. Expression is key. The old logo has already been outgrown and holds a previously established symbol (peace sign) within itself. This design is unique and timeless in my personal opinion. The symbol is powerful enough to stand on its own and will surely be remembered. I just feel like at a glance, it is absolutely beautiful and speaks to me within. Every time I see it I grow a new appreciation for its expression and representation.

Playing With Light

We’ve been messing around lately with light and it's beauty. All you need are some sweet lights (even flashlights will work), a tripod, and a camera with long exposure times (these are all 15 seconds). Unfortunately the camera I was using was set to a low resolution if any of the shots look a little grainy =/ …enjoy.

 

I added some words of inspiration to this one. Came out sweet!

Helllllllloooooo!!

I hope everything is absolutely amazing in your lives right now. Currently we are rebranding Highlife to have a more Universal feel and working on some pretty sweet designs. Lately we have been traveling deeper and deeper into the mind and exploring universal creativity without fear of judgment. Be patient please, when Highlife comes back in the mix it’s going to be absolutely amazing with the new ideas and artwork we’ve been working on.
